History & Architecture

Built in 2008, Nouvelle at Natick was part of the renovation and expansion of The Natick Mall. The Mall originally opened in 1966 as one of the first enclosed shopping centers in the Boston area. The inspiration for the exceptional architecture by Beyer Blinder Belle was provided by the name NATICK itself. It is a Native American name that loosely translates as ‘Place of Rolling Hills”

This design concept is showcased in the Mall’s undulating arcade ceiling with curved windows and expansive skylights in direct response to the sites varied changes in grade of its topography.

The residences of Nouvelle at Natick echo the design concept with curved seating in the lobbies and many interior features in Club Nouvelle; the private lounge for residents. The rolling glass ceilings of the mall’s exterior serves as a beautiful backdrop feature to Parc Nouvelle; a 1.2 Acre private roof garden. It is again repeated in the abstract wall art installations in hallways near residence elevators.
